ASUS Readies ROG Poseidon GTX 980 Graphics Card With Hybrid DirectCU H2O Cooler and 1279 MHz Clock Speed

ASUS is on the verge of launching their side by side addition in the ROG GeForce graphics card lineup, the ROG Poseidon GTX 980. Featuring the republic of gamers brand, Poseidon GTX 980 will stick with the reference technical specifications of the GeForce GTX 980 while feature faster clock speeds, a customized PCB blueprint followed with a Hybrid DirectCU H2O liquid cooler which was introduced on the GeForce GTX 780 terminal yr.

And then apace summing upward the specifications, the Poseidon GTX 980 features the GM204-400-A1 core which includes 2048 CUDA Cores, 128 texture mapping units and 64 raster performance units. The card has a four GB GDDR5 memory which runs across a 256-fleck memory interface and is clocked at 7.01 GHz effective clock frequency. The core clocks are maintained at 1178 MHz core and 1279 MHz boost clock. Being one of NVIDIA's most power efficient chip, the GTX 980 is a juggernaut of performance and power with ASUS taking it ane step further with their own customized PCB design which pushes more than power to the core and retention for better overclocking support.

To arrange overclocking and operation needs, the card is fitted with a custom designed PCB featuring the DIGI+ VRM with a 10 Stage PWM supply which pushes power through a vi+8 Pin power configuration. The menu fits in at dimensions of xi.3×5.four×i.6 inches. I of the features touted by ASUS is that the black metal capacitors used on the PCB reduce noise power past xxx% and enhance efficiency up to xv% while increasing stability and lifetime of the card.

Talking about the cooler itself, the pattern is little inverse from the previous Poseidon card. It features the black and crimson color scheme on the shroud. In that location are strikes of red on the front and dorsum while the ROG cutting outs give a decent look. The cooler shroud sticks with the ASUS ROG black and red color theme while the dual fans push air towards the center of the large aluminum fin assortment with heatpipe blueprint. Just since the ROG GTX 980 Poseidon will be a hybrid pattern, you can select to use Air cooling, H2o Cooling or both which is effective. The Straight contact base comes with a metal bracket which is pretty large and features two inlets provide water flow that transfers coolant to the copper base. Plus that ROG emblem on the side is a pulsating LED which will glow in cherry when under operation. An additional feature is a sexy ROG backplate used on the back side of the PCB which adds to the aesthetics of the card.

Finally, we have five brandish ports which we have seen on reference GTX 980 boards. These include three display ports, one HDMI and a single Display port. The card is expected to launch on December 12th 2022, pricing hasn't been confirmed yet but expect a premium over the reference model. Full specifications can exist found below:
